About the program
The Alfred E. Mann Institute for Biomedical Engineering was established at USC in 1998 as a nonprofit to bridge the gap between biomedical invention and commercially successful medical products. It funds and manages translational development of USC biomedical technologies with the aim of producing licensable products or new ventures. USC was selected as its home because of the concentration of biomedical research expertise on campus and across Southern California.
