About the program

MEDx is Duke's joint medicine-engineering initiative that funds and brokers collaborations among physicians, engineers, computer scientists and innovators to translate research into clinical impact. It runs seed funding initiatives such as the Kaganov Initiative in pulmonary medicine and engineering, an entrepreneurship workshop series, and project funding through Bass Connections. Ventures connected to MEDx activity include the student medical device startup Protect3d, which won a $50,000 NFL Innovation Challenge.
