About the program

Hartford HealthCare runs a system-level innovation function that partners with venture investors to source, pilot and back early-stage digital health and healthcare technology companies in Connecticut. In December 2022 it announced a partnership with Connecticut Innovations, the state's quasi-public venture capital arm, to accelerate digital health solutions developed in Connecticut and to support a cohort of 20 Hartford-based startups. The arrangement gives startups structured access to Hartford HealthCare clinicians to test concepts and products in a live clinical environment, while advancing state economic development and job creation goals. Hartford HealthCare has also partnered with the Upward Labs AgeTech Fund on aging-focused technology. It combines an innovation center model with venture partnership rather than running a large captive fund.
