Public description
About the program
IndieBio launched in San Francisco in 2015 as one of the first accelerators to pair wet-lab space with pre-seed investment for scientist-founders. Companies join a cohort-based program with bench space, mentorship and follow-on introductions to investors. In March 2026 SOSV renamed the San Francisco program SOSV SF to reflect an expansion beyond biology into AI, energy and materials. SOSV reports that 310 IndieBio graduates raised $3.6 billion between 2015 and 2025.
