Public description
About the program
The Innovation & Digital Health Accelerator is Boston Children's Hospital's internal startup accelerator, created to source and vet ideas from the hospital's own clinicians and to build them into products and companies. IDHA runs an internal funding and vetting process, then supplies grant funding, product management oversight and technical expertise across mobile and web applications, medical devices, telemedicine and EHR interoperability using FHIR standards. Its priorities include expanding remote care access, building clinical decision support tools that extend Boston Children's pediatric expertise globally, and creating scalable interoperable digital health platforms. The accelerator is co-led by the hospital's Chief Innovation Officer and Vice President for Digital Health and has been profiled in Harvard Business Review as a model for helping doctors launch companies.
