About the program
Inova launched Inova Strategic Investments and the Inova Personalized Health Accelerator together in 2016 as paired vehicles for external innovation. Inova Strategic Investments commits capital both to healthcare venture funds and directly to companies aligned with the system's priorities in advanced analytics, clinical innovation and information technology. The accelerator, which formally opened in November 2017 at the Inova Center for Personalized Health in Northern Virginia, hosts entrepreneurial companies developing personalized health and genomics-driven solutions and gives them physical space and clinical access. Both were stood up under experienced venture managing directors recruited from the Washington-area technology investment community. Inova has also been a limited partner in multi-system funds such as Ascension Ventures.
