About the program

Jefferson Innovation is the entrepreneurial and commercialization organization spanning Jefferson Health and Thomas Jefferson University. It manages invention disclosures, patent protection, licensing and startup formation for the Jefferson community, and provides mentorship and education to clinician and faculty inventors. Its programs include the Jefferson Accelerator Zone for startup development, the Health Design Lab, the JeffSolves product-development competitions, and Jefferson Health Hack. Leadership includes a chief innovation officer at the executive vice president level and a dedicated vice president for licensing and startups. It is a builder and licensor of internal innovation rather than an external venture fund.
