About the program

Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures is the university and health system's technology transfer and entrepreneurship platform, serving as the front door for campus innovators moving discoveries toward products and services. Its technology transfer group works with inventors to protect intellectual property, identify companies or investors, negotiate license agreements, and advise on commercialization pathways across clinical, medical device, therapeutic, and digital health domains. Its FastForward arm provides a coordinated suite of startup resources including incubator space in Baltimore, cohort-based programs, mentorship, and seed funding, alongside a Commercialization Academy that gives students experiential training. Outside companies engage through licensing, sponsored and collaborative research agreements, corporate partnerships, and investment into the FastForward startup portfolio.
