About the program

The Providence Institute for Clinical Innovation, publicly presented as the Providence Innovation Institute, aims to turn care breakthroughs into standard care by combining scientific rigor, a broad clinical network of 51 hospitals and more than 1,000 clinics, and community connections across the western United States. Its work spans clinical, operational, digital, artificial intelligence, and diagnostic innovation, with validation, implementation, and equitable scaling as core commitments. Component programs include the Providence Discover Program for data-driven collaborations, Providence Genomics, the Health Research Accelerator for implementation and outcomes research, the Providence Research Network, and RESOLVE, a rural health research partnership with the University of Montana. The ADVANCE Program for Startups is its front door for outside companies, moving them through four stages -- Explore, Research and Validate, Market Readiness, and Market Validation -- with clinician mentorship, access to de-identified real-world data for AI model testing, pilot testing in live care settings, and potential co-promotion. The institute engages partners through strategic collaboration rather than equity investment.
