About the program

The Rice Biotech Launch Pad accelerates commercialization of Rice biotechnology research under the banner of innovating healthcare faster for all, operating from Rice's campus adjacent to the Texas Medical Center. It manages large federally funded translational programs including DARPA NTRAIN, DARPA REPAIR, Gates Foundation Cell Factories and ARPA-H THOR, and runs a venture creation team, RBL LLC, that launches portfolio companies from Rice discoveries.
