About the program
StartX is a nonprofit accelerator and founder community for Stanford students, professors and alumni, with a dedicated Medical and Biotech vertical known as StartX Med alongside an AI vertical. Admission runs through application, an interview with the admissions team and a cohort kickoff, after which founders keep lifetime access to the community rather than graduating out. StartX takes no equity and charges no fees. It reports 3,000-plus founders, 144 companies valued over $100 million, 29 unicorns and $200 billion in aggregate portfolio value, and is partnering with Stanford Research Park on an innovation hub called The Link opening in early 2027.
