About the program

TIDO is Boston Children's Hospital's central technology transfer and commercialization office, managing all intellectual property arising from the hospital's clinical and research enterprise. It guides faculty inventors through disclosure, patenting, and licensing, negotiates license and sponsored research agreements, and establishes research and development partnerships with life science companies. TIDO runs the Therapeutic and Medical Device Accelerator (launched April 2024, with inaugural awards announced May 2025) and a Technology Development Fund that provide non-dilutive capital and project management to de-risk early pediatric assets toward licensing or company formation. A companion Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator (IDHA) builds and commercializes digital health and AI products developed inside the hospital. Outside companies engage through industry-sponsored research, option and license agreements, co-development partnerships, and startup formation around hospital IP.
