Public description
About the program
TechNovum is UT Health San Antonio's cohort-based accelerator for researcher-entrepreneurs commercializing health-focused innovations. Teams receive commercialization-oriented coaching, structured curriculum, mentoring, business coaching and pitch development, validating product ideas through customer discovery and market research before a Demo Day. The program runs annually with a maximum of eight teams per cohort and charges no participation fee and takes no equity. It is powered by VelocityTX, a nonprofit subsidiary of the Texas Research & Technology Foundation, which supplies mentors, investor connections and access to the VelocityTX Innovation Center. Outside mentors and investors engage as coaches and Demo Day attendees, and graduating teams incorporate as companies.
