Mandate and remit
The Center for Technology Licensing is the commercialization arm of Cornell University, with a dedicated office serving Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City. CTL manages patent filing, technology licensing and startup support for Cornell and Weill Cornell inventors. It negotiates license and option agreements with industry and works with faculty founders to spin out companies based on university technology. The office covers both the Ithaca campus and the biomedical research enterprise at Weill Cornell.
