Mandate and remit
The HealthTech Fellowship, launched by Harvard Medical School in 2020 and facilitated through its Center for Primary Care, is a 10-month immersion that applies the biodesign framework to healthcare problems. Fellows work in multidisciplinary teams that begin with field observation alongside clinical partners to identify unmet medical needs, then move into concept development and business development. Fellows work directly with physicians and receive mentorship from faculty, entrepreneurs, inventors and venture capitalists. The program runs annually from August through May and draws resources from Harvard Medical School and its affiliated hospitals, the Harvard John A.
