What This Program Does

The Technology Ventures Office is the intellectual property and commercialization office for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health. It promotes commercialization of BIDMC innovations by working with biomedical companies, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to find the best route to market for each technology. Core functions include negotiating research and license agreements, managing patent prosecution, sourcing industry-sponsored research funding, facilitating startup formation, guiding investigators along commercialization pathways and distributing royalty income to inventors.
