Mandate and remit

What This Program Does

Tufts Technology Commercialization, part of the Office of the Vice Provost for Research, is the technology transfer and industry collaboration office that handles inventions from Tufts Medical Center as well as Tufts University schools. It evaluates disclosures, manages patenting, markets available technologies and negotiates licenses and industry research agreements. The office maintains a searchable portfolio of technologies available for licensing, including Tufts Medical Center inventions in areas such as immunoglobulin RNAi therapies, orthopedic devices, neuromuscular treatments and vascular imaging. Licensing officers are assigned by school, with a dedicated point of contact for Tufts Medical Center technologies. Outside companies engage by licensing listed technologies, sponsoring research, or contacting the office about assets not yet published on the site.
