This one-year physician fellowship is a joint effort of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, MedStar Washington Hospital Center and the MedStar Institute for Innovation (MI2), designed to prepare emergency physicians for clinical and operational leadership of health-system digital health programs. Fellows spend roughly 60 percent of their time as attending physicians, including at a Level 1 trauma center, while completing immersive innovation training. The curriculum covers telehealth technology, artificial intelligence, workflow design, healthcare economics and regulatory compliance, and fellows also complete the MedStar Emergency Physicians LEAD program plus a scholarly or research project.
