What This Program Does

The AdventHealth Nicholson Center is a 54,000-square-foot medical learning and simulation incubation center in Celebration, Florida, which AdventHealth describes as one of the nation's largest and most experienced facilities of its kind. It trains physicians and surgical teams in clinical and surgical techniques using 50 surgical and clinical skills stations covering da Vinci robotic, laparoscopic, open and orthopedic procedures, plus two team-training operating rooms built to simulate real operating environments. It also has a 500-seat conference auditorium with HD multimedia and a 16-TV customizable video wall for large courses and product launches. The center explicitly leverages relationships with industry and academia to deliver its education, and medical device and surgical robotics companies use it to develop, validate and launch training programs for new systems in the United States. Outside companies engage the center as sponsors of training programs, research collaborators and users of its labs and simulation infrastructure.
