Fund or office: New Ventures and Business Incubation (NVBI)
OhioHealth New Ventures and Business Incubation is the system department responsible for identifying emerging health care opportunities, adopting outside innovations and backing new ventures. It works across four connected areas: disruption and innovation evaluation, adoption and co-development with external partners, strategic venture investment in later-stage companies, and concept and seed-stage incubation for OhioHealth's own employee innovators. For startups, NVBI acts as a shepherd that makes it easier for third-party entrepreneurial companies to get their product adopted and piloted inside OhioHealth. Internal inventors get market feasibility assessment and introductions to a partner network, and outside companies submit proposals through a formal submissions process.
