What This Program Does

The UC Davis Health Cloud Innovation Center is a joint effort between UC Davis Health and Amazon Web Services, and was the first AWS Cloud Innovation Center established at an academic medical center. It focuses on digital health equity, bringing clinicians, patients, developers and students together to design and prototype solutions for equitable and accessible digital health. The center operates as an open innovation platform: community members and partner organizations submit real-world challenges, and the center builds proofs of concept against them. All outputs, including working prototypes, are published as open source so other organizations can implement and adapt them. Focus areas include remote patient care equity, bias in AI algorithms, transportation barriers to care and mental health access. It sits within UC Davis Health's Digital CoLab.
