What This Program Does

JeffSolves MedTech is a transdisciplinary medical device innovation program run through Jefferson's Health Design Lab that pairs medical students and clinicians with industrial design and textile design students. Teams begin with user research alongside Jefferson clinicians and patients to surface real clinical pain points, then move through intensive product development training led by experts from Thomas Jefferson University, Jefferson Health and the design firm Delve. Projects are prototyped, refined and pitched publicly, including at Design Philly Festival events. The program has produced both patent-pending devices and commercially launched products, and it is co-directed by a mixed clinical and design faculty team.
