What This Program Does

Temple University's Office of Technology Commercialization and Business Development is the integrated hub through which entrepreneurs and industry find partnership opportunities in Temple research, including work from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine and Temple Health. The office runs the invention disclosure process for Temple researchers, evaluates and protects intellectual property, and negotiates licenses and industry contracts. It also operates an active startup program aimed at accelerating technology development and forming new spinout companies around Temple discoveries. Its publicly marketed pipeline spans drug delivery microspheres, catheter-based therapies, wound healing materials, rehabilitation technology and therapeutics for a range of diseases, alongside non-medical technologies such as battery materials. Outside companies engage the office as licensees, sponsored-research partners and investors in Temple spinouts.
