Commercialization model
A new company is formed to develop a hospital invention or capability, usually with a license from the system.
Spinouts appear in official materials as company creation, startups using hospital technology, or named new ventures. The directory uses the system's own language and does not relabel every portfolio company as a spinout.
Company formation is a route, not a verdict. Some spinouts remain small. Some become the system's main commercial path for a given asset.
