Fund or office: UF Innovate
UF Innovate is the University of Florida's integrated commercialization organization serving UF Health researchers and the wider university, made up of four units: Tech Licensing, Ventures, Pathways and Accelerate. Tech Licensing manages intellectual property, negotiates agreements, guides inventors through technology transfer and assesses whether a discovery should be licensed or spun out. Ventures focuses on startup funding and investment, Pathways provides entrepreneurship training and support, and Accelerate operates UF's incubation programs including The Hub. The office explicitly connects researchers with investors and industry and leads them through the commercialization process from disclosure to deal. Outside companies engage UF Innovate as licensees of UF technology, as industry sponsors, and as tenants and mentors within its incubators.
